Chaps vs. Britches: What's Better?

We’re here to start-slash-settle the debate and-slash-or help you determine what’s best for you in the field this season. We’ll start with the highlights and upsides to each and, hopefully, you can make a smart decision as to what suits you best so you can bound through briars like an English Setter. Tally Ho!
Mostly overlooked by the newer bird hunter, chaps are, generally speaking, the preferred choice for the more experienced hunters. The lightweight and quick-change option for most seasoned wingmen has long been a plus side.  Thanks to the easy conversion from social to field-ready, chaps are a great option for those of you who tend to hunt the warmer days and want the flexibility of going from the truck straight into the field without the need to change or lug additional extra gear.  The major upside: you can wear anything you want under them.  We generally recommend a good solid pant with stretch like the Midland Twill 5-Pocket Pant.

By far the best selling and most sought-after option for field days, a solid pair of briar britches are as universal as they come for all kinds of field days.  From the frigid temps of South Dakota to the chilly days chasing Bob in the Southeastern Timber, a solid pair of britches are built to withstand any situation you can throw at them.  Our britches are built on the tried-and-tested Midland Twill pant chasis with our Bruce Lee-esque waxed Baeron twill.  Light and deadly, the fabric has been tested and re-tested to allow us to confidently say - it’s the best we’ve ever seen on the market.
